MACtown's Opportunities Under The Medicaid Waiver
Adult Day Training:
MACtown has two of the oldest and most respected Adult Day Training (ADT) Programs in Dade County.
MACtown's ADT programs offer Developmentally Disabled Adults with a variety of pre-vocational,
vocational, academic, recreational and sheltered employment services. Open daily from 8:00am
until 3:00pm, each ADT program is staffed to accommodate the particular needs of the participant
within that program. MACtown, Inc. has maintained contracts with various state organizations to
include Jackson Memorial Hospital, Key West Naval Station, and Florida State Prison providing them
with condiment kits which are assembled by the participants in their respective ADT programs.Depending on the program and the desire of the participant, emphasis may be placed on production or on education. Regardless, each participant is paid on a bi-weekly basis for any production they have assembled. Remuneration is based on the prevailing wage. Each participant is free to choose the type of program in which they desire to work.
